Genius and Talented Learner
Genius and Talented learner
Recently plently of manga panels about Blue Lock has been popping up in my feed. In there, they made very clear and interesting classifications of people, seperating them into Genius and Talented Learners.
To say losely, the idea of a genius is one who creates something that no one can replicate while a talented learner attempts to translate the genius into a replicable action.
I am extremely fond of this classification. We often use the term genius and talented in our day to day lives very losely, until the genius has been watered down to a term to describe an intelligent or insanely capable individual. Fundementally, the word genius comes gignere, meaning "to beget, produce, or bring forth". It represents the ability to create something out of your supernatural understanding of the subject.
I argue that a genius can be extremely capable. However, a genius can be uncapable as well. It is their supernatural edge over a concept or idea that no one can replicate that keeps them ahead. They anchor their thinking or action to that supernatural concept and draw parallels to other subject, creating competency.
It is the fate of the commons to be unable to replicate a genius and their thoughts. This has to be accepted as the truth as anyone who tries to chase the light of a genius will likely die drowning.
Yet, as a common person, chasing after a genius and trying to understand their idelogy and thinking and watering it down into a comprehensible thought is what talented learners are.
They are the bridge between the supernatural and natural.
Hence, talented learners and geniuses are to have a mutually inclusive relationship.
Ultimately, everyone wants to be a genius, everyone wants to be special. The reality is you are probably not going to be special and it is a fact that we have to live by.
However, for the common folks, I propose a challenge to chase after a genius, condense their ideas into comprehensible thoughts. After all, a talented learner and geniuses have similiar struggles that they have to go through.
